Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments by preparing equipment, restraining animals, and supporting procedures.
- Handle a variety of animals including dogs and cats.
- Support laboratory work including sample collection, specimen processing, and record keeping to ensure accurate documentation of patient histories.
- Maintain detailed records of patient care, treatments, medication administration, and client interactions for seamless communication and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about animal behavior, post-operative care instructions, and general pet wellness advice to promote animal welfare.
Skills
- Strong animal handling skills across different species including dogs and cats.
- Some knowledge of veterinary handling and care.
- Experience with support tasks such as aseptic technique, IV insertion, and medication administration.
- Ability to perform cleaning duties efficiently.
