Sharing Life AmeriCorps Food Pantry Coordinator serving 29 hrs per week (Sep 01, 2026-Aug 28, 2027)We are currently recruiting individuals who can make a one year commitment to us from Sept 1, 2026 through August 28, 2027 serving, on average, 29 hours per week.
We strive to end hunger and poverty by demonstrating compassion to those in need through food, clothing, financial resources, and educational programs.
The AmeriCorps Food Pantry Coordinator supports the daily operations of the client-choice food pantry. This role helps ensure efficient food distribution, trains and directs volunteers, and fosters a welcoming, respectful environment for individuals and families receiving assistance.
Primary duties include:
- Prepare the pantry each morning by unloading food deliveries and stocking shelves
- Ensure the pantry is organized and ready for volunteers and clients prior to distribution
- Welcome clients and assist them with food selection and pick-up
- Create a positive, dignified experience for all clients
- Train and guide volunteers in proper food distribution procedures
- Ensure adequate volunteer coverage during pantry hours
- Communicate special items, distribution changes, or unique client needs to volunteers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pantry at the end of each distribution
- Assist with organizing and distributing clothing to clients as needed
This location requires a total service commitment of 1350 hours.
