Part-Time Personal Support Professional
Location: Cockeysville, MD
Schedule:

• Sundays: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
• Saturdays: 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Overview
A person in the Cockeysville area is seeking a part-time Personal Support employee to assist with weekly activities, home management, and community engagement. The ideal candidate understands that adults with disabilities expect and deserve the same mutual respect afforded to any adult and can provide support in a dignified, person-centered manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Support participation in regular social activities and community engagements
• Assist with meal planning, meal preparation, and grocery shopping
• Provide general household management support
• Utilize web-based communication tools (Zoom or equivalent) and telephone conferencing
• Use web-based calendars to track appointments, classes, and scheduling needs
• Provide safe, reliable transportation in your personal vehicle

Job Requirements

• Personal vehicle in safe working condition for transportation
• Valid Maryland driver’s license in good standing
• Valid car insurance, current tags, and registration in good standing
• No more than 3 points on driving record
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to use web-based tools and virtual meeting platforms

Training Requirements

• Adult First Aid / CPR / AED certification (prior to start or obtained shortly after)
• Willingness to receive on-the-job training
• Training to oversee or perform blood glucose level checks and proper sharps disposal
• Understanding of exposure risks, biohazard handling, and sharps disposal
• Awareness of signs and symptoms of diabetic shock, coma, or related incidents
• Ability to pass criminal background check, driver background check, and drug test
• Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and current on all pertinent vaccinations (flu, rubella, measles, mumps, etc.). Proof required.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting Pay: $22.00 per hour
• Mileage reimbursement
• 90-day evaluation
• Annual cost-of-living adjustment
• Annual 360 evaluation with potential for merit-based increases
• Paid Time Off per current policy

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 per week
