Location: Andover/Tewksbury, MA area
Hourly Wage: Pay starts at $22-$24/hour. Negotiable depending on experience/hourly commitment
Start Date: Immediately (contingent on updated certifications /background checks/trainings)
Job Description: Exciting opportunity available in the Andover/Tewksbury area to engage with a small team of direct care specialists to support an active 32 year old man with autism to succeed in an integrated, community-based program. A modern local apartment with many amenities is the base of this work opportunity. You will have the opportunity to provide 1:1 direct support while engaging in scheduled paid/volunteer jobs, recreation, leisure and daily living activities. The promotion of independence is the primary focus. The program is designed and overseen by this young man’s family, along with the Shared Living Collaborative in Merrimac, MA as the Department of Developmental Services’ Agency With Choice partner. Key characteristics for success in this self directed program are a combination of experience working with individuals with disabilities, strong communication skills, ability to multi-task, a positive and patient attitude and energetic approach to job expectations. Experience working with a picture-based communication system is a plus. Applicants must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license as they will be expected to provide transportation on shift. Candidates with certifications in place for CPR/First Aid/AED and Medication Administration (MAP) may be given priority but trainings will be provided for right candidate
Hours Available: There is some flexibility on hours listed below.
Day shifts: Wednesdays 9:00am-3:00pm
Overnight Shift (Asleep): Mondays 3pm-Tuesday 10:00am
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 12 per week
