Shared Hospital Services is looking for a Production Laundry Workers in Portsmouth, Va. This position requires Saturday
JOB DESCRIPTION-LAUNDRY OPERATOR/PLANT
Summary: Under direction of the Plant Manager, Production Supervisors and Leads, helps process the linen from soil receiving to shipping.
Work Performed: Includes the following and other duties as assigned.
- Intake, sorting, and laundering of soiled linen.
- Feeding, folding, counting and tying of clean linen.
- Loading carts and filling orders with clean linen.
Equipment: Conveyors, push carts, feeders, ironers, folding and tying machines and linen cages.
Relation to Other Jobs: An employee may be assigned to a specific position for a period of time, but must be able to work in any position when necessary.
General Qualifications for Employment: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily to include but not limited to:

- Ability to maintain production performance standards.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures.
- Ability to follow company policies.

Education: Prefer vocational or high school graduate.
Experience: Prefer any industrial laundry or production experience.
Special Requirements: The ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds on a continuous basis; repetitively grasp, pull, push, bend, stretch and stoop; maintain the production standards; stand/walk 100% of the scheduled work day; handle potentially infectious materials; safely operate necessary equipment and work overtime, weekends and some holidays.
Working Conditions: Temperatures subject to outside conditions, some tasks may be very dirty and require Personal Protective Equipment.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position requires to work weekdays between 6am- 5pm and some Saturdays may be necessary.
