What are the responsibilities and job description for the Homestead Farm Manager position at Shapiro Financial Group?
We are looking for a full time farm manager who will turn our small
homestead (10 acres) into a productive farm.
We need someone who is able and willing to run multiple areas of the
farm and mostly start it from scratch. Their is infrastructure here but
some is a bit run down and will need repaired. The goal is to provide
food for three families. We all run our own business and would like
healthy home grown food for our families.
We need someone who is self motivated and directed. I have a vision for
what the farm can produce but will work collaboratively with you on the
direction and focus as this is built up.
Additional duties would include general ground maintenance and landscaping.
I am willing to invest in additional infrastructure as needed. The ideal
candidate will have farm experience in both managing different species
of animals and growing vegetables. Additionally would be capable of
running small equipment and be a decent rough carpenter for building
things such as chicken tractors and maintaining / rebuilding fencing.
Once the farm is up and running as additional compensation you would be
entitled to a portion of food surplus. We can also discuss the
development of cash farm businesses which you could participate in.
This will be a multiyear / long term project and so would be looking for
someone who would be interested in this position for the long term.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
