Role
SUMMARY
As a Senior Buyer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely availability of materials to support our global operations. You will leverage your expertise in purchasing and supply chain management to drive efficiency, optimize supplier relationships, and implement process improvements. Your proactive approach will help streamline procurement systems, reduce costs, and maintain a high level of operational performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies (e.g., Kanban, VMI, consignment, ROP, MRP) for key materials.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings and mitigate risks.
- Manage supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and compliance with agreed-upon terms.
- Oversee material requirements planning (MRP) and ensure optimal inventory levels.
- Coordinate purchase orders and reschedule messages to align with production demands.
- Lead projects related to supplier transitions, part changes, and process improvements.
- Implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and manage Phase-In/Phase-Out (PIPO) transitions.
- Monitor and address issues with excess, obsolete, or rejected materials in accordance with company policies.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies to ensure accurate accounting.
- Work closely with internal teams and global commodity groups to align purchasing decisions with company goals and strategies.

SALARY: $75,000 - $90,000 USD, depending on qualifications and experience
Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Strong negotiation and contract management abilities.
- Advanced knowledge of MRP systems (Microsoft AX preferred).
- Proficiency in analyzing cost structures and identifying opportunities for savings.
- Ability to interpret and act on MRP signals.
- Proven track record of managing complex BOMs and engineering parts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS (Preferred):
- APICS CPIM, CSCP, or similar certifications.
- Lean/Six Sigma experience is a plus.
