Job Summary
The Pre-Admission Nurse reviews patient health information, surgical & medical history, medications, and provides specific instructions to patients prior to the surgery/procedure date. The nurse collaborates with hospital surgical areas, ambulatory surgery centers, clinics, and anesthesia providers (if necessary) to facilitate information regarding upcoming surgery/procedure to ensure the best possible experience for the patient.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma: Required
- Completion of an accredited nursing program: Required
- Associate’s degree in nursing Required
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing: Preferred
- Master’s degree in nursing: Preferred
Experience:
- Three years of Surgical, Clinic, or Department-Specific Experience (ENT, GI, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, etc.: Preferred
Certification/Licensure:
- Registered Nurse with Authorization to Practice in the State of Texas -OR- Licensed Vocational Nurse with Authorization to Practice in the State of Texas: Required
- Base Life Support (BLS): Required
