Job Summary
The International Program Coordinator, under the guidance and supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer and Human Resources Leadership, is responsible for establishing relationships with internationally educated staff prior to their arrival in the United States and supporting them throughout their journey at Shannon. This position will assist international staff with transitioning to life in the U.S. and serve as a resource for all social aspects of that transition.
The International Program Coordinator will also serve as the primary point of contact for international agency staff currently working at Shannon and will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to encourage their retention. For individuals working at Shannon through an agency relationship, this role will actively recruit them into permanent core staff positions upon completion of their agency contracts. The role requires proactive engagement, relationship-building, and close coordination with both Human Resources and Nursing Leadership to ensure a seamless transition from agency to Shannon employment. While the primary focus remains on internationally educated staff, the coordinator may also assist with domestic recruitment initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
Education
- Required
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Preferred
- Master's degree in nursing
Experience
- Required
- Two or more years of acute care nursing experience
- Preferred
- Two or more years of nursing education experience
Certification/Licensure
- Required
- Registered Nurse (RN) license, with Authorization to Practice in the State of Texas
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must obtain within ninety (90) days of start date.
