The role of Interior Designer is integral to the overall success of our projects - The ideal candidate will be eager, focused, and bring a sense of intuition to the needs of their coworkers and our clients.

What You'll Do:
● Professionally collaborate with clients to determine their design preferences, budget, and timeline
● Ownership of assigned projects, from start to finish: this includes all stages of the project, from concept design, FF&E, and all the way through installation and project punch
● Communicate effectively, professionally, and clearly with clients, contractors, vendors, and all other project team members
● Ability to represent SGDS and the client’s needs while at project sites and in all associated meetings
● Programming client needs, conceptual design, 3D modeling/rendering, presentation packages, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentation
● Create, maintain, and update Project Schedules
● Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts
● Oversight on all project tasks to ensure nothing falls through the cracks
● Take necessary measurements and other documentation at project sites
● Request quotes, pricing, and product information from trade vendors and create Trade Accounts as needed
● Specifying furniture, producing furniture presentations and organizing furniture specifications for the procurement department
● Maintain good working relationships with our trade and build partners
● Maintain and organize all project-related information in accordance with our filing system
● Maintain constant communication with team members in regards to project timelines, tracking, lead times, custom orders, timing for fabric selections, CFAs, workroom inspections, installations and
● Oversee the installation of furniture, fixtures, and finishes
● Knowledge and ability to value engineer when necessary
● Stay updated on industry trends and new design techniques
● Track time per job as well as follows scope of work for each project efficiently
What You'll Need:
● Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design preferred, or equivalent experience with other Design Firms
● 3-6 Years Work Experience preferred
● Proficient in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office.
● Expert use of AutoCAD, and Sketch-Up
● Experience with FF&E
● Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and reliable source of transportation
● Strong ability to communicate and follow up on unresolved issues
● Skilled at evaluating options and generating solutions
other project-related information as needed
● Ability to manage multiple projects and multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
● Organized, creative, collaborative, and independent
● A collaborative attitude towards working with a variety of teams and project players
● Ability to stay level headed during stressful situations and bring an overall optimistic attitude to work.
● Ability to work Mon-Fri 9-5pm
● Ability to easily commute to NYC clients 2-3 times per week
