What are the responsibilities and job description for the BHR Housing Manager Float position at Shangri La?
General Position Summary: The BHR Housing Manager Float position will include all the standard expectations and duties of a residential manager but will be assigned to programs that need managerial coverage on an as needed basis across the department. This position will require regular travel between sites and outside of the primary assigned work location. This position will report to the director of BHR, and the float manager schedule (location specific, not time/day specific) will be determined and/or approved by the director.
The Manager is responsible for the support, training, and coordination of activities of the residential personnel and management of daily operations and services, to serve people with diagnoses of severe and persistent mental illness. This position will identify and monitor program needs, create, plan, and implement training programs, processes, policies, and procedures to fulfill those needs in their designated location sites. Reliable and regular attendance is imperative.
Qualified candidates for this role must meet one of the following:
One year or more of clinical experience working in a setting that provides treatment to individuals who are diagnosed with serious mental illness; or
Two years or more of residential experience working in a setting that was licensed to provide care and services to individuals who are diagnosed with serious mental illness.
Status: Exempt - Full Time 40 Hours
Starting salary: $4910.53/mo
Wage Scale: $4910.53/mo to $6212.26/mo
Shift information: Monday-Friday (some weekends)
Location: Eugene (may require travel to provide coverage at locations as far north as Salem)
Reports to: Behavioral Health Program Director
Knowledge: Two (2) years’ work experience in a position that included supervisory and training responsibilities. Preference to candidates with five (5) years’ education in human services field. Must have current Oregon Driver’s License and acceptable driving record. Must be able to be approved by the background criminal history unit.
Skill & Effort: Ongoing excellent verbal and written communication skills with stake holders inside and outside the organization. Extraordinary interpersonal communication skills and ability empathize with people experiencing challenges. Regular need to design and develop single program (work unit) functions and related processes and procedures. Ability to assess risk as well as to make determinations about tasks and deadlines. Thorough understanding of residential support services. Ability to monitor and prioritize needs. Responsible for the financial sustainability and budget of the program. Extremely organized and detail-oriented and understanding of professional ethics. Ability to quickly become proficient in all office technology required for the position to include; Office Machinery, MS Office programs, Dayforce, Office 365, Intellidoc.
