About Shamrock Express

Shamrock Express, a division of ARL, is an intermodal drayage provider operating 275 power units across 13 terminals in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and key inland markets. We’re expanding into Columbus and looking for a dispatcher who wants to help build a new terminal from the ground up.

The Role

You’ll run the day-to-day dispatch operation for our terminals moving containers, managing driver workload, and keeping customers informed. This is a hands-on seat in a fast-paced environment where the work directly drives terminal performance.

What You’ll Do

• Dispatch owner-operators to cover daily container moves while balancing service, safety, and profitability
• Communicate proactively with customers on load status, delays, and exceptions
• Keep the TMS updated in real time so driver pay, billing, and reporting stay accurate
• Build strong relationships with drivers — their earnings and retention depend on how well loads are planned
• Monitor daily revenue, cost, and margin against goals; flag exceptions to leadership with a plan to fix them
• Manage service issues as they come up and follow through to resolution
• Partner with the terminal manager on driver retention, customer reviews, and performance improvement plans

What We’re Looking For

• Prior dispatch experience, ideally in intermodal drayage, trucking, or logistics
• Strong communicator who can hold their own with drivers, customers, and leadership
• Organized and calm under pressure — the phones don’t stop
• Comfortable with TMS software and basic reporting
• Self-starter who wants to help build something, not just maintain it

Compensation & Benefits

• $55,000–$65,000 base bonus
