Position Overview:
As the Chief Engineer, you will oversee all aspects of the maintenance and engineering operations within our organization. You will be responsible for managing the maintenance team, implementing preventative maintenance programs, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all mechanical and electrical systems.
Essential Job Functions:
Maintenance Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team, including technicians, electricians, and other personnel, to ensure the effective operation and upkeep of facilities and equipment.
Preventative Maintenance Programs: Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, including scheduling regular inspections, servicing, and repairs to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and repair of all equipment and machinery within the organization, including boilers, HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems, to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
Budget Management: Prepare and manage departmental budgets, including forecasting expenses, monitoring spending, and identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality standards and safety compliance.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and codes related to building maintenance, fire safety, environmental standards, and occupational health and safety, maintaining accurate records and documentation as required.
Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response protocols and procedures for handling equipment failures, power outages, and other unforeseen events, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and guest services.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers for maintenance and repair projects, including obtaining quotes, overseeing work performed, and ensuring quality and timely completion.
Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the maintenance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement, and promoting professional development and training opportunities.
