Overview
Shalom Kosher and Signature Caterers are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Candy Packer to support our candy, snack, and gift packaging operations. This position works at both locations, typically 3 days per week at Shalom Kosher and 2 days per week at Signature Caterers, with flexibility to work a combination of Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming deliveries.
- Pack containers of candy, dried fruits, nuts, chocolate, pretzels, and other specialty products.
- Weigh, label, and seal packages accurately.
- Create candy and chocolate pretzel gift packages.
- Operate a commercial popcorn machine and package popcorn products.
- Take inventory and assist with product ordering.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
Applicants must be able to:
- Work independently with strong attention to detail.
- Lift and move boxes weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Prioritize tasks and complete work efficiently.
- Learn to use commercial scales, product codes, and weight conversions.
- Learn gift packaging techniques, including ribbon tying.
- Follow instructions and maintain quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An eye for design and color coordination.
- Previous packing, warehouse, retail, food service, or gift assembly experience is a plus, but not required.
