Shahnawaz Palace is looking for a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to join our restaurant team. We are willing to train and teach the right person.
This is a hands-on position for someone who is eager to learn, works well with others, and takes pride in keeping the kitchen clean and organized. You will assist our cooks with basic food preparation, cleaning, dishwashing, and other daily kitchen tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation, including washing, chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients
- Help cooks prepare and assemble dishes
- Wash dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Keep workstations, floors, storage areas, and kitchen equipment clean and organized
- Receive and properly store food, ingredients, and supplies
- Refill ingredients and supplies as needed during service
- Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures
- Safely lift and move boxes, ingredients, and kitchen supplies
- Complete additional kitchen tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is helpful but not required
- Willingness to learn—we will provide training
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced kitchen
- Able to stand for extended periods and safely lift kitchen supplies
- Commitment to cleanliness, food safety, and quality
