Shaggy's on the Rez is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead our vibrant kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for seafood cuisine, a strong commitment to quality and safety, and the leadership skills to maintain smooth kitchen operations in a fast-paced, welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring top-notch performance and morale.
- Schedule kitchen employees to ensure efficient coverage during peak hours.
- Inspire teamwork and foster a fun, family-friendly culture in the kitchen.
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee the preparation of fresh seafood dishes, maintaining high standards of taste and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including regular cleanliness checks.
- Manage inventory, order seafood and other supplies, and minimize waste.
Financial Oversight:
- Monitor food and labor costs, ensuring the kitchen operates within budget.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to develop menu specials and improve profitability.
- Analyze kitchen performance metrics and implement improvements.
Guest Experience:
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure timely and exceptional service.
- Address and resolve any guest concerns related to food quality.
- Continuously improve menu offerings to delight our guests.
Qualifications:Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification preferred.
- 3 years of experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or similar role, preferably in a seafood restaurant.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Expertise in seafood preparation and kitchen safety practices.
- Ability to manage inventory and control costs effectively.
- Problem-solving skills and adaptability in a high-volume kitchen.
