What are the responsibilities and job description for the Arcade Game Field Service Technician position at SHAFFER DISTRIBUTING CO?
As an Arcade Field Service Technician at Shaffer Distributing, you’ll travel throughout the greater U.S. installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the latest arcade games, helping install and build out exceptional game rooms for our customers. You’ll have the opportunity to install and support the arcade industry’s newest equipment with all travel-related expenses and travel time paid. At Shaffer, our service technicians build a strong sense of camaraderie with each other and take great pride in everything they do.
Responsibilities:
- Install and repair arcade equipment across the U.S.
- Tests functionality and performance following installations.
- Set up and configure payment kiosks, POS systems, and card readers in the shop or at customer locations
- Uses diagnostic tools to determine repair plans.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain existing equipment
- Provide post-sale support and training to customers
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members
Normal work hours are M-F 8-5 PM while in the office. Overtime required when traveling.
Ability to travel up to a week, two times per month for the periodic installations across the U.S. (50% estimated travel: 100% paid for!)
Reporting office location preferred: Columbus, OH.
Position Requirements
- Strong communicative skills including both verbal and written
- Strong electrical & mechanical aptitude
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment circuitry and mechanical assemblies
- Ability to follow manufacturers installation instructions and program settings.
- Dependable and reliable, with the ability to work independently
- Detail oriented
Physical Requirements
- Lifting an average of 50 pounds
- Twisting of body
- Constant stooping and bending/squatting
- Climbing ladders
- Unloading equipment
