What are the responsibilities and job description for the SITE COORDINATOR CDS position at Shady Side Academy?
The PK-5 Coordinator of After-School Adventurers is an integral member of the Academy Programming Staff. This position will work directly with the Director of After School and fellow Site Coordinator to provide safe after-school care and engaging enrichment classes for PK-5 students at Shady Side Academy’s Country Day School, located in the Fox Chapel area outside of Pittsburgh.
Primary Responsibilities
Oversee the planning, implementation and supervision of
- After-School Adventurers program [occurs weekdays during school year; 2:30-6:30 PM, working hours from 1:00pm-6:00pm]
- In-Service/Break Day Camps [full days, approximately 9 per school year; 8:00am-4:00pm]
- Spring Break Camps [full days, generally occurring the last two weeks of March; 8:00am-4:00pm]
The job consists of 20 average hours per week with more hours occurring during In-Service/Break Days.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- a bachelor’s degree in an academic discipline and/or have prior employment experience in a learning-focused environment
- experience and enthusiasm for working with children in grades PK-5
- a passion for fostering a creative learning environment with young students
- a flexible and team-oriented approach with proven ability to be a self-motivator
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- exceptional organizational skills
- the capability and comfort level to connect and communicate with many Academy stakeholders, including students’ families, faculty, and enrichment providers
- Successful completion of state-required clearances
