Garage Mechanic
The Garage Mechanic is responsible for performing mechanical and electrical repairs on all Academy vehicles and power equipment, as well as conducting routine inspections to ensure safe and reliable operation. This role requires strong diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on Academy vehicles and power equipment
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Ensure a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area
- Comply with all Department of Environmental Resources (DER) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations related to hazardous materials and waste disposal
- Assist with campus snow removal operations as needed
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in automotive and small engine repair
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
- Pennsylvania UST Class A/B Operator Certification (required)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to safety
Clearances Required:
- FBI Fingerprint Clearance
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
- Pennsylvania State Criminal History Check
- Mandated Reporter Certificate
Work Environment & Benefits:
