The work we do building families offers stimulation, challenge, and personal reward.We have an immediate opening for an experienced OR/PACU Medical Assistant to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team in Towson, MD. The schedule is Monday -Friday 7 am - 3:30 pm with 2-3 weekends and holidays per year. Pay range $22 - $26 per hour. How You'll Contribute:We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the Medical Assistant is responsible for:Assisting as scrub technician in the OR Proper sterile and aseptic technique and setup/use of equipmentPreparing rooms for all procedures while ensuring necessary instruments, supplies and equipment are availableTechnical skill in the care and use of instruments, supplies and equipment used during a surgical procedureProper sanitary maintenance of equipment according to OSHA guidelinesUsing autoclave and clean per protocolProviding ultrasound guidance under physician’s supervision during transfersComforting patients by anticipating anxieties, answering questions, providing supportWhat You'll Bring:The skills and education we need are:Sterile Processing requiredFormal MA education/certification preferredPrior experience in an OR/Ambulatory Surgical settingExperience in women's health (e.g., OB/GYN) preferredAbility to access, input, and retrieve information from a computerInfertility/IVF experience is preferredPhlebotomy skills are preferredProfessionalism and strong customer service skills a must!More important than the best skills, however, is the right person.
