Shadrock & Williams is looking for a Mason Tender/Laborer to assist masonry leads on commercial sites in Nashville on the Vanderbilt University project. We are looking for candidates with a strong understanding of commercial masonry installation. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with supplies and equipment, as well as a track record of completing tasks on time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Stocks block, brick, stone, and other masonry units
- Keeps wire reinforcing, flashing, drip edge, veneer ties, control joint cross, expansion foam, and other masonry accessories readily available when needed
- Mixes mortar and masonry grout
- Cuts masonry units
- Assists with the installation of masonry grout and rebar
- Keeps work area clean and organized
- Lays out and builds scaffolding
- Cleans and maintains masonry equipment (grout hog, mixer, saws, etc.)
- Adheres to the company's safety policies to create a safe work environment
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to lift heavy units in a repetitive manner
- Ability to work at heights without fear including work on scaffolding and ladders
- Ability to perform on a regular basis in outside weather conditions consisting of wet, hot, humid, and/or freezing temperatures, also contending with dirt and dust
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Must have a good work ethic, and the ability to understand and carry out written or verbal instructions
- Ability to use equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner
- Ability to work in a team environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
