UX Designer – Interfaces for Cyber Analysts & Operators

Location: Columbia, Maryland, Annapolis Junction, Maryland, Telework options
Clearance Required: TS//SCI with Polygraph
Compensation Range: $110,000 - $260,000

What You’ll Do
This role is focused on designing interfaces that support cyber analysts and mission operators. You’ll translate operational workflows into intuitive layouts, reduce friction in high-velocity environments, and ensure users can see what matters when it matters. Your designs may surface threats, prioritize events, or guide workflows under pressure.

This work is grounded in real-world usage. You may prototype directly with users, test inside classified spaces, or collaborate closely with engineers on systems that demand clarity and reliability.

Who This Might Be a Fit For
This could be a great fit if you:

  • Design with users who make time-sensitive decisions in mind

  • Know how to clarify dense, data-rich environments

  • Understand how to create focus in noisy or alert-heavy interfaces

  • Have experience with SOC tools, mission platforms, or intel systems

  • Want your designs to reduce error, speed decision-making, and support trust

Why Shadow
In cyber environments, interface design isn’t cosmetic — it’s operational. At Shadow, we don’t chase trends. We create tools that function precisely, help people stay oriented, and adapt to real-world constraints. If you’re a designer who thinks like a strategist and builds like an engineer, this is where you belong.

  • Fully covered health insurance – medical, dental, vision

  • Paid parental leave – 16 weeks if you give birth, 4 weeks if your partner does

  • Flexible leave – designed to support real life, not restrict it

  • 401(k) – for your future

  • Short- and long-term disability – because life happens

  • Annual health stipend – if you opt out of our insurance

The Extras? They're Built In

No points systems. No bean bags. Just clarity, autonomy, and a mission that matters.

Elite talent deserves elite support. Our benefits empower you to excel professionally and personally, recognizing your value through comprehensive health coverage, disability protection, and meaningful well-being initiatives.
