Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Grade Checker to support septic system installations by verifying proper slope, elevation, and grade in accordance with local codes and engineering plans. This role is critical to ensuring systems are installed correctly, drain properly, and pass inspection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify slope, grade, and elevation for septic system components (trenches, tanks, drain fields, piping)
- Read and interpret site plans, septic designs, and grading specifications
- Use grading tools such as laser levels, transits, or GPS equipment
- Communicate grade requirements clearly to equipment operators and installers
- Ensure installations meet local, state, and county septic codes
- Identify grade issues early and recommend corrective actions
- Document measurements and assist with inspections as needed
Required Qualification:
- Proven experience with septic system installation or earthwork grading.
- Strong understanding of slope, fall, and elevation requirements for septic systems
- Ability to read and interpret septic plans and site drawings
- Experience using grade-checking equipment (laser level, transit, etc.)
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious
- Valid driver's license
Work Environment:
- Outdoor, field-based work on active construction sites
- Exposure to varying weather conditions
- Collaboration with installers, operators, and project managers.
