Housekeeping Associate
Shadow Mountain Lodge & Cabins – Ruidoso, NM
Shadow Mountain Lodge is a locally owned mountain lodge nestled among the pines in beautiful Ruidoso. We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Housekeeping Associate who takes pride in their work and understands that cleanliness and upkeep are a key part of a great guest experience.

What You’ll Be Doing
Room & Common Area Cleaning
- Clean and reset guest rooms and common areas, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and replenishing supplies
- Thoroughly sanitize bathrooms and restock toiletries
- Wash, fold, and manage linens and towels
Guest Experience
- Pay attention to details that make guests feel welcomed and comfortable
- Assist with special requests when needed
- Maintain a quiet, respectful presence that protects guest privacy
Maintenance, Grounds & Safety
- Report damages, maintenance issues, or safety concerns promptly
- Assist with basic outdoor property upkeep, including:
- Raking and weeding during warmer months
- Snow shoveling and salting walkways during winter conditions
- Follow all cleaning, safety, and health standards
Teamwork & Improvement
- Participate in training and team meetings
- Learn new cleaning methods or tools as introduced
- Share ideas for improving efficiency and workflow
Inventory & Supplies
- Monitor cleaning supplies and equipment
- Communicate when restocking is needed to avoid shortages
Other Duties
- Assist in other areas of lodge operations as needed
Requirements
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- Must have a working smartphone capable of downloading and using one required work communication app
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, year-round
- Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience is helpful but not required — training provided
Physical Requirements (Important – Please Read)
This is a physically demanding role. Candidates must be able to:
- Stoop, bend, kneel, and reach frequently throughout the workday
- Lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 pounds, including linens, cleaning supplies, and equipment
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Perform repetitive physical tasks without diminished performance
This position is best suited for someone in good physical condition who is comfortable with consistent movement and physical work.
