Role Description
This is an on-site internship role located in Alexandria, VA. The intern will support day-to-day operations, assist in program management activities, and provide analytical input to improve projects and workflows. Responsibilities may also include contributing to customer service initiatives, participating in internal training sessions, and supporting effective communication across teams to enhance project outcomes.
Responsibilities:
As a Construction Intern at Shabani LLC, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced professionals and contribute to various aspects of our construction projects. Your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting with Office Work: Providing support in administrative tasks related to construction projects, including document preparation, filing, and record-keeping.
2. Following Bids: Assisting in the bidding process by researching and tracking relevant projects, and helping to prepare bid proposals.
3. Project Take Off Quantities: Assisting in quantity take-offs, ensuring accurate measurements of materials and resources required for construction projects.
4. Managing Subcontractor Relationships: Assisting in communication and coordination with subcontractors, ensuring smooth collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Preparing Subcontractor and Owners Database: Assisting in compiling and maintaining a comprehensive database of subcontractors and project owners for future reference.
6. Other Duties: Assisting with additional tasks as required to support ongoing projects and the overall operations of the company.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Program Management, including the ability to support project planning and execution.
- Strong Analytical Skills to evaluate data and contribute to problem-solving initiatives.
- Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, for team collaboration and client interactions.
- Experience or interest in Training and providing support to team members in various processes.
- Strong Customer Service skills and a focus on building positive client relationships.
- Ability to work on-site in Alexandria, VA with a collaborative mindset.
- Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related areas.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or project management software is a plus.
