We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Yard Manager to lead and optimize our yard operations. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily yard activities including shipping & receiving, order picking & packing, and materials handling to ensure timely and accurate operations.
- Manage inventory levels through effective inventory management systems, ensuring accuracy and minimizing discrepancies.
- Coordinate transportation planning and fleet management to optimize delivery schedules and reduce costs.
- Supervise warehouse distribution processes, including category management, packaging, and warehouse experience initiatives.
- Implement process improvements utilizing supply chain analytics and data analysis skills to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with procurement teams on sourcing strategies and pricing negotiations for freight, 3PL providers, and materials.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management system (WMS), ERP systems like AS400, and CMMS tools for operational oversight.
- Lead safety compliance efforts related to materials handling equipment such as forklifts and ensure adherence to all regulatory standards.
- Support demand planning, shipping & receiving schedules, dispatching, and order fulfillment activities to meet customer expectations.
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse management or supply chain operations within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of logistics processes including freight management, NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), and transportation planning.
- Hands-on experience with warehouse systems such as WMS, ERP platforms like AS400, or similar supply chain software tools.
- Demonstrated ability in inventory control, procurement, sourcing, category management, and demand planning.
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment including forklift operation certification is preferred.
- Data analysis skills to interpret supply chain metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a warehouse or distribution setting.
