Description: Develops new and/or integrates existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models. Develops software that simulates behavior of users and systems. Develops, integrates, and uses graphical user interfaces and visualization tools. Model s operational environments, performs trade studies via computer simulation and provides decision support for alternative architectures. Performs operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis. May build and design training models.

Background/Need: The Group develops and demonstrates advanced sensor system and command and control concepts incorporating emerging signal and data processing algorithms, architectures, and techniques. Major activities within the group include system concept development for RF and optical systems, modeling and simulation, signal processing algorithm design, RF and optical system design and development, experimental field testing and data analysis and development of one-of-a-kind operational and experimental test assets. The group has expertise in adaptive sensor array processing for both radar and communications, advanced real-time software techniques, signal detection and estimation, communications, and systems analysis. The group conducts a significant amount of field testing and data collection to prove new concepts and collaborates with other groups throughout the Laboratory for real-time prototype implementation, experiment execution, and systems analysis.

Required Skills:

• MS in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• 6 years of relevant experience performing either systems analysis or data analysis.
• Candidate should have experience in several of the following fields: radar systems engineering, radar data analysis, signal processing, statistical data analysis.
• Candidate must be able to explore innovative techniques and algorithms and be able to understand how these new developments can affect an existing radar system s capabilities.
• Expert with MATLAB (anonymous functions, object-oriented programming and various toolboxes, phased array as an example)
• Candidate must have good organizational skills with the ability to complete assignments working independently and in a team environment, and effectively present results.
• Effective communication with colleagues, sponsors, and other research sites.

Others:

• Clearance: Candidates must have an active Top Secret clearance to be considered for this position.
• Work Location: Hybrid - Individual works from home or off-site for a portion of their schedule and within a routinely commutable distance from the Lexington facility. Candidate should expect to work onsite at least 3 days a week.
• Interview Process: Initial pre-screen with hiring manager. If candidate advances, next round of interviews will be with the Group Leaders and Technical Staff Team.
• Travel: Not a requirement but if candidate has ability to travel there could be opportunities (domestic/international).
