Job Title: Motor Department Supervisor

Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor

Position Summary

The Motor Department Supervisor oversees and manages the motor technicians to meet client demand. Provides guidance, supports and ensures work meets quality, safety and company standards. Works closely with the Warehouse Manager to coordinate shipping and ensures safety protocols and best practices in all motor department activities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the effective supervision of the Motor Technicians and the efficient management of the motor department to meet client demand for rental chain hoists.
• Spend time overseeing the daily activities of Motor Technicians, providing guidance, support, and ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager to plan and prioritize motor inspections to fulfill outgoing orders and meet customer deadlines.
• Manage the inventory of parts needed for motor repairs, ensuring an adequate and well-organized supply to minimize downtime.
• Utilize ProofCert and RTPro to maintain accurate equipment records, track inspections and certifications, and support inventory management and equipment readiness.
• Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to coordinate shipping of motors for orders.
• Collaborate with Motor Department teams across all ShowRig locations to ensure consistent practices, maintain operational alignment, and coordinate equipment, resources, and support as needed.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices in all motor department activities.
• Monitor and report on the performance and productivity of the motor department, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
• Collaborate with the procurement team to source and order replacement parts as needed.
• Conduct regular meetings with the Motor Technicians to provide updates, address concerns, and facilitate training as necessary.
• Any other action deemed reasonable or significant by management

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a motor maintenance or similar technical field.
• Knowledge of motorized chain hoists and their maintenance requirements.
• Understanding of inventory management principles to ensure an adequate supply of parts for repairs.
• Experience with inventory management and equipment tracking systems, including ProofCert and RTPro, preferred.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to enforce them in a technical work environment.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and urgent maintenance needs.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in the maintenance and repair process.
• Willingness to undergo any necessary training or certifications required for the position.

Physical Requirements

• 
  Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry objects weighing up to 50-75 lbs. independently and heavier loads with team assistance.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, climb, and reach regularly throughout the workday.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to safely operate tools and equipment.
• Stamina to perform physical tasks for extended periods, often in fast-paced or time-sensitive environments.
• Ability to work in varied conditions, including indoor warehouse environments and outdoor job sites, sometimes in inclement weather.
• Must be able to wear and properly use all required PPE (personal protective equipment), including safety harnesses, helmets, and gloves.

Working Conditions

This position is performed in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature fluctuations, frequent exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment. Shift schedules may include early mornings, late evenings, or weekends depending on business needs.
