What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Carpenter position at SGO Construction, Inc.?
OVERVIEW:
Based in North Chicagoland, our residential remodeling company (non-union) is hiring an experienced residential lead carpenter to fill this long-term, fulfilling position. Ideal candidate will have extensive trim carpentry skills and basic rough carpentry skills. Organization, attention to detail, thinking outside the box, and ability to read blueprints are also valuable skills. Tasks include:
- Run interior and exterior remodeling projects from start to finish. Projects include kitchens, baths, decks, built-ins, applied trims and some Specialty Projects. SGO will subcontract out major framing.
- Plan, organize and execute the carpentry associated with each project.
- Track overall progress of project; maintain quality control.
- Manage customer service for each given client (communicate work schedules, job progress, etc.).
- Lift standard construction material.

Minimum High School degree and at least 7 years of carpentry experience. A work vehicle & tools are required.
