DEPARTMENT: PCC - MEDICAL ONCOLOGY
SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 8-1630 M-F
Position Summary
The Infusion RN is responsible for the safe administration of chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and supportive care treatments to oncology patients in an outpatient infusion setting. The Infusion RN provides direct patient care, education, symptom management, and coordination of care while maintaining compliance with evidence-based oncology nursing standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements including USP hazardous drug handling guidelines.
EDUCATION
Experience with hazardous drugs (i.e. Chemotherapy, immunotherapy, etc.) and interest in caring for oncology patients desired. Must be flexible, with good organizational skills. Skillful in verbal and non-verbal communication. Knowledge of oncology treatment regimens and infusion therapy standards. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Ability to recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies and infusion reactions. Knowledge of USP , OSHA, and infection prevention standards.Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced outpatient oncology environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION
Duties require considerable sitting, standing, stooping, bending and lifting (in excess of 50 lbs.). Must be able to push objects (carts, beds, wheelchairs), and have ability to operate office equipment. Considerable mental effort, ability to work in confined high stress environment. Able to formulate judgments based on the recognition of normal physiology and signs and symptoms of disease processes.

EDUCATION
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Completion of chemotherapy/biotherapy provider-approved training program required within 90 days of employment.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred within 3 years.
- Minimum of 2 years of oncology nursing or infusion experience preferred.
