SGI Logistics is looking for independent contractor drivers who want driving to be more than an occasional side gig.
Our Hot Shot drivers handle time-sensitive, on-demand deliveries throughout Alabama and the surrounding region. There isn't necessarily a neat stack of deliveries waiting every morning. Instead, customers call us throughout the day when something needs to move — and we dispatch the right driver for the job.
Think less “log into an app and make a few bucks” and more “stay available and be ready when the call comes.”
How Hot Shot works
You don't know exactly where the day will take you.
One delivery might be across Birmingham. The next could send you to Huntsville, Montgomery, Atlanta, or beyond.
Availability matters.
The drivers who do well with Hot Shot work make themselves available, stay in communication with dispatch, and are ready to move when opportunities come in.
Some days are busy. Some aren't.
On-demand work naturally changes from day to day. There is no guaranteed number of deliveries or hours. But for contractors who want to make a living behind the wheel, being consistently available puts you in position for opportunities as they arise.
You're not just dropping off dinner.
Our customers depend on us for important, often time-sensitive shipments. Professionalism, communication, and reliability matter.
And yes — there's plenty of windshield time.
If a long drive with your music, podcasts, or audiobook sounds better than spending eight hours behind a desk, you're probably our kind of person.
This isn't “easy money.”
You'll deal with traffic, changing destinations, waiting between orders, long drives, customer deadlines, and days that don't unfold exactly as planned.
The people who tend to succeed at Hot Shot work are independent, patient, dependable, and comfortable not knowing exactly what the next call will bring.
They don't just like the idea of driving.
They like being drivers.
What we're looking for
- Reliable car, SUV, minivan, or cargo van with no major body damage
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- 21 years of age or older
- Ability to pass required drug screening, background check, and motor vehicle report
- Smartphone
- Professional appearance and communication
- Comfortable driving throughout the day and potentially traveling longer distances
- Able to work independently and stay in communication with dispatch

SGI Logistics is locally owned and operated in Alabama. We provide courier, routed distribution, warehousing, final-mile, and time-sensitive delivery services throughout Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.
