Structural AutoCAD Designer

Pay Rate: $60/h

Contract Duration: 12 months, with potential to convert to full-time

Location:

• Initially: Houston, TX (first 2–3 months)
• Then: Sugar Land, TX

The Structural Designer is responsible for developing structural designs from initial concept through final construction. This role requires strong CAD expertise, the ability to interpret engineering guidance, and adherence to established standards and codes.

Responsibilities:

• Develop structural design drawing packages using AVEVA (E3D) and AutoCAD.
• Collaborate directly with the Lead Structural Engineer and cross-discipline team members as needed.
• Ensure all projects meet design standards and comply with relevant codes and regulations.
• Assist with checking, updating, and maintaining structural design standards and procedures.
• Prioritize discipline project scopes while meeting schedule and budget requirements.
• Perform initial setup of AutoCAD drawings based on files received from the Lead Engineer.
• Create plans and details from sketches and redline markups provided by the Lead Engineer.
• Support the maintenance and improvement of AVEVA (E3D) and CAD standards.
• Coordinate and maintain project models using MS Office, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and AVEVA (E3D).
• Comply with all Company Quality Control and Project Management procedures.
• Promote a positive Work environment aligned with organizational goals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in structural design.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, AVEVA/E3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail with strong facilitation, collaboration, team-building, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective time-management skills, strong personal conduct, and adaptability to change.
