Warehouse Dock Helper (Full-Time)
- Note: Holidays are considered regular workdays for this position.
Position Summary:
SGC Foodservice is seeking a dependable and hardworking Warehouse Dock Helper to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for unloading trucks using pallet jacks and hand-stacking boxes, bags, and various other items. The work environment includes temperature ranges from -5°F to ambient, and requires frequent lifting of items weighing 40–60 lbs.
This is a physically demanding position that requires attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. No previous experience is required—we will train the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unload trucks using pallet jacks and by hand-stacking items
- Handle continuous lifting of 40–60 lbs., with some lifting up to 100 lbs.
- Work in a variety of temperatures (-5°F to ambient)
- Maintain attention to detail and accurate order handling
- Adhere to strict attendance and punctuality requirements
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to work in temperatures ranging from -20°F to 100°F
- Strong oral communication skills and basic math skills
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physical ability to perform labor-intensive work for extended periods
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, forklifts, high lifts, man-ups, chargers, and shrink wrappers
- Must be able to communicate verbally in English to understand work instructions, communicate with team members, and perform essential job duties
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift heavy objects
- Must frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs., and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
Conditions of Employment:
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check and substance abuse screening
- Must consistently meet job requirements throughout employment
