What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician position at SGB SMIT USA?
Job Goal
Perform daily tasks to ensure compliance of quality in production and shipping departments. Safety is of the utmost importance due to varied tasks associated with this position.
Tasks:
- Take all job photos for in-process and final shipping and upload to proper location.
- Review and confirm all items shipping match the job BOM from engineering.
- Review and confirm all shipping items and packaging are labeled and detailed on box/skid and packing list.
- Manage job racks to ensure all parts are pulled and dispositioned prior to shipping.
- Collect and Review all job checklists for completeness prior to shipping.
- Assist in shipping and receiving department.
- Co-ordinate outgoing shipments with Traffic Department.
- Work directly with multiple departments to assist with NCR reporting system.
- Document non-conformities both internal and suppliers.
- Assist in root-cause investigation.
- Daily audits of all departments to ensure QC checklists are being completed.
- Perform necessary tasks by way of instruction from the Compliance Manager

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required
- 1 year of manufacturing experience required; preferably with ISO Certified company.
- Strong background in Microsoft Software, (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to read manufacturing drawings.
- Photography experience is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Climbing, lifting, bending, kneeling, crawling, and carrying light to moderate loads (= 50 lbs.)
- Required to work at heights for long periods of time utilizing ladders, platforms, and lifts.
- Pushing and Pulling Carts.
- Frequently working alone.
