Job Summary
Established in 2020, SG Solid Grounds is looking to grow and build our lawn care business!
We are a results driven lawn care provider servicing residential and commercial properties in central Iowa. We are dedicated to perfection. Our typical mowing contracts include precision grass cutting, detailed trim and edging for added curb appeal, and grass clippings blown back to where they belong. You will also assist with our fall and spring grounds cleanup contracts which consist of leaf removal, raking, bush and shrub trimming.
Essential Functions –
- Mowing, trimming, edging and clearing/blowing grass clippings to maintain a well-groomed property. Applicant must be able to operate heavy and small equipment (including but not limited to zero turn mowers, string trimmers and leaf blowers) to complete tasks safely, efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to safely drive single or tandem axle trailers (preferred, not required).
- Communicate effectively with team members, residents or tenants you may encounter on the job site.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform minor repairs on equipment.
- Follow PPE requirements.
- Ensure safety for you, others, equipment and property.
- Assist with identifying and reporting any grass issues to management.
- Collaborate with your team and work independently.
- Additional duties as assigned by management and subject to change.
Physical Requirements –
- Ability to stand, walk, bend and kneel for up to 8 (eight) hours per day.
- Use hands including fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls in a repetitive motion.
- Able to work in all weather conditions.
- The ability to reach with arms and hands overhead and in front of your body safely.
- Frequently required to be flexible by climbing or balancing through different terrain.
- Ability to see clearly at both far and close distances.
- Required to push, pull, lift or carry 50 (fifty) pounds – occasionally up to 85 (eighty-five) pounds.
- Must be able to climb a ladder occasionally up to 8 (eight) feet safely.
Education and Experience –
- A valid state driver’s license, clean driving record, and dependable transportation.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Additional Job Requirements –
- Ability to work at a smoke free job site.
- Availability March through December.
