Investment Analyst, Trading & Portfolio Management (RIA)

$80,000 – $120,000 annual bonus

Full-Time | Manchester, NH | In-Office

Sweeney Financial Management is a fee-only, fiduciary registered investment advisor managing approximately $410 million in assets under management. We are 100% partner-owned, independent, and built on a foundation of objective, long-term financial advice. We custody assets at Charles Schwab and serve clients across the Northeast and other parts of the country. We are growing, and we are looking for an investment-minded professional who is passionate about the capital markets and ready to do meaningful work.

You will work directly with our Chief Investment Officer and advisory team to execute client trades, manage portfolio rebalancing, conduct investment research, and help build well-diversified client portfolios. This is a hands-on role with real responsibility from day one. You will have direct exposure to portfolio decision-making in a fiduciary, client-first environment, not a back-office desk at a large institution.

Trading & Portfolio Management

•     Execute client trades and manage rebalancing across a diverse book of client portfolios

•     Monitor portfolios for drift, tax-loss harvesting opportunities, and model alignment

•     Support portfolio construction and help develop well-diversified investment strategies

•     Assist in maintaining and updating model portfolios in coordination with the CIO

Investment Analysis

•     Conduct thorough research and analysis across asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and alternative investments

•     Assist in research, due diligence, and ongoing performance monitoring

•     Prepare investment commentary, market summaries, and analytical reports for internal use and client communications

•     Stay current on capital markets, economic trends, and evolving investment opportunities

Team Collaboration

•     Work closely with the CIO and advisory staff to support client investment outcomes

•     Collaborate with advisors on client-specific portfolio needs, risk profiles, and planning objectives

•     Contribute to firm investment committee discussions and strategy development

Required

•     Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field

•     3 years of experience in investment analysis, trading, portfolio operations, or a related financial role

•     Genuine passion for the capital markets and investing; this matters to us

•     Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail

•     Ability to work collaboratively and thrive in a small, high-trust team environment

Preferred

•     Familiarity with Schwab Advisor Services or similar custodial platforms

•     Experience with portfolio management or trading software such as Black Diamond, Orion, Tamarac, iRebal, or similar

•     CFA candidacy or other relevant investment designations (not required but valued)

•     Exposure to tax-aware investing, rebalancing workflows, or financial planning integration

•     Base salary $80,000 – $120,000 annual bonus. Salary commensurate with experience
