Location: Private School (Grades 5–12), Green Hills Area – Nashville, TN

Compensation: $105,000 annually (DOE)

Position Summary

The Site Facility Manager serves as the strategic leader of all campus operations for a large, vibrant private school serving grades 5 through 12 in the Green Hills area.

This is a high-visibility leadership role responsible for overseeing a large, multi-functional facilities team, including maintenance, custodial, grounds, and security staff, while supporting a dynamic school environment with extensive athletics, events, and after-hours programming.

This position requires a unique blend of hands-on technical skills and senior leadership to drive operational excellence through teamwork, planning, and coordination. The Site Facility Manager ensures the campus consistently exceeds the expectations of students, faculty, families, and leadership.

The campus operates at a high level of activity, with frequent sporting events, performances, and parent engagements, requiring a leader who thrives in fast-paced, people-centered environments.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Provide direct leadership and oversight of a large facilities team across maintenance, custodial, grounds, and security functions.
  • Supervise supervisors and team leads; set expectations, coach performance, and drive accountability.
  • Foster a culture of service excellence, safety, and professionalism
  • Manage staffing plans, scheduling, and coverage for extended hours and events

Campus Operations Oversight

  • Lead all day-to-day facility operations across academic, athletic, and event spaces.
  • Ensure the campus is consistently safe, clean, and presentation-ready for a high volume of daily activities
  • Oversee building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety) through team delegation and vendor coordination.
  • Implement and maintain operational standards and SOPs
  • Manage work order system, ensuring timely task completion, and team accountability to sustain high standards of service and efficiency

Event & Community Support

  • Coordinate facilities support for athletic programs, performances, school events, and after-hours parent/community activities.
  • Partner closely with school leadership to anticipate needs and ensure seamless execution
  • Manage logistics for high-profile and large-scale campus events

Vendor & Contract Management

  • Oversee third-party vendors and service providers
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure service delivery meets performance and compliance standards
  • Manage relationships to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost control

Project & Capital Planning

  • Lead facility improvement projects, renovations, and campus enhancements
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on long-term facility planning and capital improvements.

Financial & Administrative Management

  • Develop and manage operating budgets
  • Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure financial accountability
  • Track KPIs and operational performance metrics

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in facility management, with strong leadership responsibility
  • Proven experience managing large teams and multi-service operations
  • Experience in educational environments (K–12 or higher education strongly preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of building systems, safety standards, and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated success in budget management, vendor oversight, and project leadership
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills — comfortable working with school leadership, staff, parents, and vendors
  • Ability to thrive in a high-energy, service-driven environment with frequent activity and changing priorities
  • Professional certifications (CFM, FMP, or similar) are a plus

Working Conditions

  • Regular weekday schedule with flexibility for evenings and weekends based on school events and operational needs
  • Primarily leadership-focused; minimal hands-on technical work required
  • Background check required for school campus access

Work Schedule

  • Monday – Friday: Typically 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Flexible availability required for events, athletics, and emergencies
