What are the responsibilities and job description for the E-Commerce Data Analyst Intern position at SFM Commerce?
Location: Remote
Term: 3 Months, Unpaid Intern
About SFM Commerce
SFM Commerce specializes in premium patio solutions and outdoor essentials. As a modern, data-driven brand, we manage a high volume of SKUs across multiple major e-commerce marketplaces, with a heavy focus on Amazon and Walmart.
About the Position
We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Data Analyst Intern to help optimize our rapidly growing e-commerce operations. If you love digging into complex datasets, tracking performance across multiple platforms, and turning raw numbers into actionable business strategies, this role is for you.
You’ll be a crucial part of how we manage our inventory, scale our advertising, and predict our sales trends. This is a hands-on experience where your analysis will directly influence our day-to-day business decisions.
What You’ll Do
- Data Integration: Gather, clean, and consolidate large volumes of multi-channel data across various e-commerce platforms.
- Inventory & Sales Tracking: Monitor and analyze SKU-level performance to optimize stock levels, prevent stockouts, and identify high-performing products.
- Ad Performance Analysis: Track and evaluate key metrics for our advertising campaigns (PPC, ROAS, CPA) to help maximize our marketing spend efficiency.
- Reporting & Dashboards: Build and maintain clear, structured reports and dashboards that help the team visualize performance metrics at a glance.
- Predictive Insights: Spot patterns, identify sales anomalies, and assist with forecasting models to help us stay ahead of market demand.
What We’re Looking For
- The Toolkit: Strong proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas) is a must. Familiarity with SQL, Python, or data visualization tools (like Tableau or Power BI) is a major plus.
- Analytical Mindset: You enjoy working with large, messy datasets and have the patience to ensure data accuracy across hundreds of SKUs.
- E-Commerce Interest: A strong interest in retail, digital marketing, or supply chain logistics. Previous exposure to e-commerce platforms or advertising metrics is highly valued.
- Communication Skills: Ability to translate complex data into clear, straightforward insights for the rest of the team.
What You’ll Get
- Real-world, high-impact experience managing data for a live e-commerce brand.
- Mentorship and a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your voice is heard.
- Deep understanding of multi-platform operations, supply chain logistics, and digital ad performance.
- Flexible working hours to accommodate your class schedule or other commitments.
