Job Overview
The Sales Associate is responsible for managing the full sales cycle—prospecting, securing, and growing client relationships to maximize revenue for Southfork Ranch. This role demands a proactive and results-oriented professional who thrives on exceeding revenue targets, strategically capturing market share, and ensuring Southfork Ranch is the venue of choice for both private and corporate events. Evening and weekend work may be required based on the event and client schedule.
In addition to driving sales, the Sales Associate is expected to identify upsell opportunities, differentiate Southfork Ranch from competitors, and collaborate closely with operations teams to deliver outstanding client experiences and profitable events.
Responsibilities
- Sales & Revenue Growth
- Aggressively research, solicit, and generate new leads through database research, networking, and proactive outreach.
Client Relationship Management
- Build, maintain, and grow long-term client relationships through proactive engagement, rebooking efforts, and exceptional service.
- Conduct engaging site tours to highlight Southfork Ranch's unique features and capabilities.
- Coordinate tastings, walkthroughs, and client planning sessions to ensure alignment on event details.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by differentiating Southfork Ranch from competitive venues and clearly communicating value.
- Provide ongoing support throughout the sales process and day-of event as needed.
Market Knowledge & Competitive Positioning
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of competing venues, including pricing, offerings, and positioning, to strategically shift share and overcome objections.
- Monitor seasonal demand patterns and booking strategy to ensure optimal pacing and utilization of event spaces.
- Share feedback and market insights with leadership to inform strategy and enhance sales effectiveness.
Administrative & Collaboration
- Accurately maintain CRM records of all leads, activities, proposals, and contracts.
- Prepare and submit sales reports and documentation as required.
- Collaborate closely with event operations, culinary, and service teams to ensure smooth handoff and execution of booked events.
- Participate in sales blitzes, team meetings, and cross-departmental initiatives.
- Respond to incoming inquiries within company-established timelines, ensuring timely and well-crafted proposals that drive conversion.
- Develop customized proposals, contracts, and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) that align with client needs and Southfork Ranch standards.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing strategies to maximize space utilization, protect financial goals, and achieve revenue targets.
- Contribute to revenue goals as defined by leadership, adjusting approach based on seasonal demand, business priorities, and market shifts.
- Identify upsell opportunities for services, enhancements, and add-ons that increase both client satisfaction and event profitability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, Marketing, or related field (preferred, not required).
- 2 years of sales experience in hospitality, events, catering, or related industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Ability to prospect, develop new business, and grow existing accounts.
- Knowledge of event space utilization, revenue management, and upselling strategies.
- Familiarity with competitive landscape in hospitality/event venues (preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication with strong presentation abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a client-first, hospitality-driven approach.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with CRM systems for tracking leads, proposals, and client activity.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
