What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Leader position at SFBLI?
Our Project Management Office is looking for a Project Leader to lead designated projects and/or project support activities as assigned by the Manager of Project Management. The project leader is typically assigned responsibility for one project and/or support roles on projects being overseen by a project manager, senior project manager or the director of project management. The project leader will be assisted as needed by project managers and the director of Project Management.
The project leader ensures that the project team identifies project requirements, establishes clear and achievable objectives, adapts specifications, plans, and project approach to the different concerns and expectations of various project stakeholders, and delivers the project’s product in accordance with defined objectives.
The qualifications are:
- 4 Year college degree (BS/BA) required
- Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) preferred
- Successful completion of the Wonderlic Test
- 3 years of IT or project team (SME) experience OR 5 years of SFB experience with solid working knowledge of products, processes, and systems
- Leadership potential
- Analytical & problem solving skills
- Organized and goal/results oriented
- Confident written and oral communication skills
- Technical aptitude
The role responsibilities are:
- Work with PMO leaders, Project Managers, and Executive Project Board members to determine project objectives, project approach, and a clearly defined project scope
- Develop, communicate, and maintain Project Management plans and project roadmaps with teams.
- Lead and direct cross-functional teams to deliver projects according to plans and objectives.
- Maintain project artifacts, DevOps boards, and communication channels with teams.
- Monitor, track, and communicate risks and issues. Escalate to management and executives as needed
- Ensure productivity, quality, and predictability of team’s project work, and stability/happiness of team. Enforce corrective action with internal teams and vendors when needed. Escalate unresolved issues to management
- Model company’s core values. Ensure core values are supported within teams.
