We’re looking for a Systems Administrator Intermediate will, under direct supervision, be responsible for proactively designing, building, and maintain enterprise systems to support the existing and future needs of the business.
A Bachelor's or better majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field is required. Preference is given to those with a GPA of 2.8 and higher.
Duties and Responsibilities of a System Administrator Intermediate:
You will work alongside other administrators -
• Installs and configures operating systems software releases, hardware, core system software and third party products.
• Assists with evaluation and installation of operating systems product patches.
• Evaluates and installs patches for operating systems and third party software.
• Diagnoses and resolves intermediate server software/hardware issues and coordinates with vendor for resolution.
• Assists with maintenance system backups.
• Maintains documentation for server equipment.
• Assists with the development of business continuity plans for server and storage restoration.
• Helps provide technical support and guidance for PC/laptop related issues.
• Provides technical support and guidance for PC/laptop related issues.
• Logs and resolves trouble tickets in support database.
• Assists with the development of business continuity plan.
• May install, configure and maintain Storage Area Network including backup or replication of data.
• May install and maintain company intranet and imaging system.
• May install, maintain and provide for backups of SQL server environment.
• Monitors hardware and software environments and takes corrective action when required.
Core Technical Requirements
- Strong experience with Microsoft Active Directory
- User and group management
- Group Policy creation and troubleshooting
- DNS/DHCP administration
- Organizational Unit management
- Network Infrastructure Administration
- Configuration, management, and troubleshooting of switches, routers, and firewalls
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, subnetting, and VPN technologies
- Systems & Server Knowledge
- Experience with Windows Server environments
- Knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware or Hyper‑V preferred)
- Understanding of multi‑site network architecture
- Preferred: Cisco & Meraki Experience, Storage solutions
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst or Cisco Nexus switches
- Experience managing Meraki MX, MG devices
- Familiarity with Meraki Dashboard for monitoring and configuration
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot switchports, trunks, access ports, and L3 interfaces
- Storage Solution experience ( Rubrik)
Additional Skills
- Ability to diagnose and resolve network outages and performance issues
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Meraki Dashboard, etc.)
- Familiarity with backup solutions and disaster recovery practices
- Ability to create and maintain documentation (network diagrams, procedures, asset lists)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
