What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gelato Maker/Pastry Chef (PT) position at SF Gelateria?
Company Introduction:
SF Gelateria is a small batch of gelateria made from scratch right in the shop. The menu features Italian classics, American favorites, and Global flavors. Flavors change weekly and there is a strong emphasis on organic and local ingredients. We are hiring people who love food, especially frozen treats, and love bringing happiness to people.
Duties:
- Measure, mix and create all our gelato from scratch.
- Make sauces and baked goods.
- Maintain inventory.
- Follow recipes and create new ones.
- Operate, clean, and maintain gelato machinery.
- Maintain the cleanest kitchen.
Qualifications:
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with making ice cream, gelato, and pastry ideal, and food prep experience is a must.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Can stand for long periods.
- Be able to practice safe handling skills with food equipment.
- Maintain high sanitation standards.
- Previous experience baking, preparing food in a commercial kitchen, or culinary school graduate.
- ServSafe Certificate.
