Duties
- Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering speech therapy interventions aligned with individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse communication needs.
- Support children with language disorders, speech sound disorders, fluency issues, and other communication challenges through structured therapy activities.
- Implement speech-language therapy plans by conducting exercises focused on phonology, morphology, syntax, pragmatics, and voice modulation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including teachers, occupational therapists, and psychologists—to ensure comprehensive support for students with disabilities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, progress notes, and communication logs to track developmental milestones and inform ongoing treatment strategies.
- Assist in preparing therapy materials and adapting activities to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Participate in telehealth therapy sessions when required, providing remote support to students in various settings including early intervention programs and virtual classrooms.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in educational or clinical settings is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of speech-language pathology principles, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to communication disorders.
- Experience supporting students with disabilities or those requiring specialized interventions is advantageous.
- Familiarity with early intervention practices and IEP development processes enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Bilingual abilities are considered a strong asset for serving diverse student populations.
- Strong understanding of child language development stages and common speech disorders supports effective intervention strategies.
