Position Summary
The Controller will be a key member supporting the executive team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the businesses, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, cash flow management, and strategic planning. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented leader who thrives in a small-company environment and is comfortable wearing multiple hats.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting and finance functions, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and month-end close for headquarters and various subsidiaries
- Develop and manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and cost controls to ensure financial stability
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the CFO and C-Level executive team
· Collaborate with C-Level executives on forward-looking company goals, growth and strategies
- Analyze manufacturing costs, margins, and operational efficiency
- Oversee inventory accounting and cost accounting systems
- Oversee general accounting teams
- Help manage relationships with banks, auditors, and external partners
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and reporting requirements
- Support capital investment decisions and growth initiatives
- Oversee / maintain various subsidiary company financial statements
- Preparation of quarterly consolidated financial statements for headquarters and subsidiaries
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
- 7 years of progressive financial leadership experience
- Prior experience in manufacturing strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management
- Experience in small to mid-sized companies (hands-on role required)
- Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
- Proficiency with QuickBooks
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
- Possess strong creative thinking skills
