Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Assistant

Sewing Concepts is a small, family owned, flag manufacturing company. We have over 800 universities we manufacture products for. We are seeking a warehouse shipping and receiving assistant. This individual will be trained in multiple aspects of the company - shipping and receiving, order pulling, inventory control, count, weigh, and measure outgoing shipments, etc. Must be organized to be able to keep records of shipments. Must be able to lift and/or move heavy items and be computer/excel literate.

Essential functions -

• Able to identify merchandise location, quantity, and description by utilizing our system in place
• Uses customer order to accurately pick merchandise from its location
• May need to lift and carry products to packing location
• Pack orders/items into properly sized cartons
• Checks all orders for quality and accuracy
• Able to put items away accurately in warehouse that are not for current orders
• Count physical items and run cycle counts
• Fix errors between actual stock and computer reports
• Able to maintain regular and predictable attendance
• Abides by all policies and procedures

Here's what you need to join us -

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience in production/warehouse environment preferred
• Average reading ability to read orders and identify merchandise
• Basic counting and mathematical skills to pick the correct quantities
• Ability to communicate and understand English in written and verbal form
• Ability to respond with flexibility to changing work demands
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team
• Ability to work with technology (Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, etc..)
• Ability to walk and/or stand for the duration of working shift
• Ability to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach overhead
• Ability to frequently lift and carry heavy boxes/totes (sometimes 35-50 lbs)
• Ability to climb step stools/ladders to access product
