What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Technical Support Representative position at Sewer Equipment?
We are looking for employees who can perform quality work and meet deadlines with or without direct supervision. They will need to interact professionally with other employees and customers. Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments. Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations. The primary purpose of the Technical Support Technician is to assist end users and dealers in diagnosis and repair of equipment via phone, email and fax.
Responsibilities
- Hydraulics
- Understand hydraulic equipment and systems
- Understands all hydraulic components
- Reads and interprets hydraulic schematics
- Electrical
- Understands 12 Volt electrical systems
- Understands basics of circuit breakers, fuses, starters or control circuitry
- Uses an electrical test meter to test voltage, amperage, continuity or ohms
- Troubleshoots electrical systems such as breakers, relays, timers or solenoids
- Troubleshoots electro-pneumatic and electro-hydraulic systems
- Troubleshoots DC motors
- Pneumatics
- Troubleshoots pneumatic systems
- Has knowledge of all related hoses and fittings
- Reads and interprets pneumatic schematics
- Other Duties
- Occasionally assist with training classes for customers on equipment repair, operation and maintenance
- Responsible for the review of current and past service case files to ensure documentation is accurate and traceable.
- Approve third-party repair work and issue and receive Puchase Orders for work performed.
- Any additional duties assigned by the manager

Requirements:
- Hydraulic, electrical and mechanical equipment or general mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret parts diagrams, and schematics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and Outlook
- Familiarity with finding files on computer
- Ability to learn operation of our ERP system - Made2Manage and Karmak
- Ability to learn Record 360- asset condition reporting app
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Good organizational skills
- Willing to carry company cell phone on a weekly rotation to assist customers outside of normal business hours
- 18 Years or older
- Eligible to work in the United States
Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm with rotating after-hours on-call duties at our Clinton, IA location.
