What are the responsibilities and job description for the Van Driver position at Sewell Senior Citizen Center?
Job Description:
- Transports participants according to an established schedule, staying with allotted times.
- Assists participants in and out of the bus.
- Interacts with participants in a warm, professional manner, maintaining positive relationships with participants.
- Notifies the Director of Transportation/Administrator of any potential mechanical problems or needed repairs.
- Maintains an open line of communication with the Activity Director regarding needed transportation.
- Maintains a clean driving record.
- Assists participants with activities of daily living such as daily meal service, ambulation, transfers and supervision/monitoring of participants during field trips.
Qualifications:
- Relates to participants in a courteous, understanding and cooperative manner.
- Maintains a current driver’s license of the appropriate type required for the van.
- Maintains a good driving record.
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least 20 years of age.
- High school education or equivalent GED required.
- Prefer at least one year’s experience driving professionally.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
