What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server/Waitstaff position at Sevim’s?
New Turkish restaurant set to open in Edmond in Jan/Feb seeks enthusiastic, reliable, and consistent Front of House and Back of House staff. Interviews will take place in early January, with a soft opening set for the last week of January and grand opening in late February. Paid training will begin mid-January. *Please do not apply if this time frame does not work for you!*
Qualifications
-16 years of age
-Previous restaurant/food establishment experience
-Available to work 15 hours /week
-Preferred past serving experience
-Capable of reaching, bending, crouching, and lifting up to 30 pounds
-Must be an effective communicator and multi-tasker
-Maintain a professional, friendly, and clean appearance/demeanor
-An interest in learning about Turkish cuisine, or familiarity with Turkish, Mediterranean, or Middle Eastern food is a bonus!
Responsibilities
-Greet guests and seat them in timely manner according to the day’s seating map, reservations, large parties, etc, while rotating between on-shift servers
-Creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests while delivering efficient, warm service
-Working knowledge of full menu and ability to answer any questions from guests regarding ingredients and preparation clearly
-Complete all opening, closing, and side duties as assigned (seating guests, closing section, assisting with expo/food running, folding silverware, answering phones, etc)
-Be a team player and eager to offer assistance to other staff when able to help restaurant run effectively
-Take all food and beverage orders, communicating any special requests, allergies, or other needs to kitchen staff
-Securely boxing/packing up any leftovers for customers to take away when desired
-Close out customer tabs accurately and handle all cash and card transactions in a timely manner
-Maintain high standard of cleanliness in dining room area (sweeping, wiping tables, cleaning spills, etc)
-Adhere to all local food safety and sanitation laws
-Customer service-minded attitude
