What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Marine Service Technician position at Severn Yachting Center?
At Severn Yachting Center, we pride ourselves on the quality and breadth of work that we perform on our clients’ boats. We have an opening for an experienced Marine Service Technician that has a mastery of diesel engines, electronics, marine air conditioning and refrigeration, and yacht systems. Proficiency in marine electronics, sailboat rigging is also a bonus.
Technicians will be able to assess project needs, submit parts and materials requests, operate equipment, and maintain a clean work area and equipment. S/he will work well as a team member, communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors, and follow regulatory guidelines and safety standards. It is expected that the technician will have their own personal tools, while specialty tools will be provided.
This is not entry level position, and the ideal candidate will hold multiple professional certifications from ABYC and OEM manufacturers. They will have a broad knowledge of marine systems and be able to execute work with minimal, if any, guidance.
Normal winter hours are 7- 3:30 M-F with overtime as necessary. During the spring/summer Technicians work a 4 day, 10 hour work week.
