Job Description

Sew Fit Tailoring and Alterations is seeking a part-time Digitizer. We are looking to fill this role with someone who has prior digitizing experience and who understands how to create high-quality, efficient embroidery files, not auto-generated designs.

You will be responsible for digitizing logos, creating customer images that are sent in, and lettering. This candidate also needs to have experience embroidering different types of garments and materials.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality, custom embroidery digitized files (manual digitizing required)
• Properly size lettering and images for embroidery placement
• Select appropriate stitch types, densities, underlay, and compensation
• Optimize designs for time-efficient embroidery production
• Digitize for a variety of fabrics and items, including:
• Denim
• Hats / caps
• Backpacks
• Other specialty garments
• Prepare files compatible with production embroidery machines
• Work closely with the shop to ensure clean stitch-outs and professional results

Requirements

• Proven experience with embroidery digitizing software, including:
• Wilcom
• Hatch by Wilcom
• I-Cliqq
• Strong understanding of embroidery principles (not just auto-digitizing)
• Experience embroidering or digitizing for multiple fabric types
• Familiarity with commercial embroidery machines

(We use a Happy Japan machine; experience with other machines is welcome)

• Time-efficient, detail-oriented, and reliable
• Able to meet deadlines and production needs

Preferred Qualifications

• English speaking (bilingual a plus)
• Prior experience in a production embroidery environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 15.0 per week
